NEW STEAMSHIP SERVICE. SYDNEY, August 30. Mr. Sprout, managing agent of tho Oceanic Steamship Co., has received «ablcd advice that, starting with the Sonoma from Sydney on December 3D, there will be a tri-weekly .mail, passenger, and freight service to London, via JPagopago, Honolulu, and San Frasciseo.

The total enlistments in all S-tates to August 14 are: Victoria, 46,179; New South. Wales, 40,882; Queensland, 12,420; South Australia, 10,202; Westralia, 9,953 and Tasmania, 4,458.
