After leaving hospitals they would return to their homes, so the strain upon medical men and hospital's :f New Zealand would not be so great as anticipated. He intended as far as possible to . distribute returning wounded to hosptals nearest their own homes. Serious surgical cases must b e dealth with at the main hospital, secondary cases at smaller hospitals, wher e surgical and nursing staffs were able to cope with them.
