THE PRESIDENT'S TROPHY A KEEN CONTEST. The most popular of the competitions of the Taihape Golf Club, the President’s Trophy, took plac e last week, and proved by far the most keenly contested of the season. No less than four competitors tied for first place, the cards treading as follows; Scott, 96 —28—68; Eaton, 100 —32 — 68; Dales, 108—40—68; Hesketh, 108 —40—68. The next best cards were put in by Wakeman. 98 —>27 —71; and Kelsall, 107—33—74. v The above results speak loudly of the enthusiasm displayed by all members and also of the progress made by the novices of the Club.
