OWHANGO POST OFIFCE.
Difference of opinion and trend of individual interests oftimes delay the provision of public conveniences that have became pressingly necessary. It is not suggested that either have operated in the case in question, but for some reason the erection of a Post Office at Owhango has been deferred. Sir Joseph Ward, as the new Postmaster General, has taken the Owhango case in hand, and after due consideration, he has decided that the site first decided upon shall not be changed and he has addressed the following letter to Mr R. W. Smith, Member of Parliament for this district:
Postmaster General’s Office, Wellington, 18th August, 1915. Sir, —Referring to your letter of the 4th instant, in the matter of the erection of a post office building at Owhango, I have the honour to inform you that it has been decided not to change the site, the Public Works Department is,’ therefore now being given authority to take steps to have the erection of the building proceeded with. 1 have the honour to be, Sir, Your Obedient Servant, (Signed) J.
