PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that, under the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” “The Rating Act, 1908,” and “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1908,” and the amendments thereof respectively, and all ether powers and authorities it thereunto enabling, it is the intention of the Taihape Borough Council, at a Special Meeting to be held in the Ccu.-.cil Chambers, Town Hall, Taihape, on FRIDAY, tha 3rd day of

SEPTEMBER, 1015.. at S pm., to make and levy the following rates for the year commencing on the Ist day of APRIL, 1915, and ending on the 31st day *cf MARCH. 101 G: A GENERAL RATE of one penny and a half (lid) in the £ on the rateable value of all rate-' able property within the Bor- ' ough of Taihape. • A LIGHTING RATE of one-seventh . or a penny (l-7d) in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Bor(ugh cf Taihape. A WATER RATE, under the provisions of Section S 3 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” and its amendments, on all rateable property within the Taihape Water Supply RatingDistrict and all property outside 'such District, {situated within cue hundred yards from any part of the Waterworks.

In addition to th e above, the Council proposes to levy the following Special Rates for payment of Interest and Sinking Fund on the undermentioned loans; Loan of £6OOO (Streets and Footpaths Improvement) a rate of five-sixteenths of a penny (5-16 d) in the £. Loan of £2OOO (Town Hall additional), a rate of one-tenth of a penny (1-1 Od) in the £• Loan of £21,250 (Waterworks, Electric Light, etc.), a rate of one penny and nine-sixteenths (1 9-16 d) in the £. Loan of £ll3l 11/4 (Drainage Area No. 1), a rate of one-ninth of a penny (l-9d) in the £. Loan of £1034 19/11 (Drainage Area No. 2), a rate of One farthing in the £. Loan of £3750 (Drainage Area No. 3), a rat e °f 011 e penny (Id) in the £. Loan of £2803 19/5 (Taiihape Township Roads), a rate of oneseventh (l-7d) in the £. Loan of £1346 7/11 (Otaihape I.F.S. Roads), a rate of one-fifth of a penny (l-sd) in th e £. Loan of £4OOO (Waterworks additional,), a rate of nine-thirty-sec-onds of a penny (9-32 d) in the : £.

All such Rates to be payable in one installment ou the 20th day of SEPTEMBER, 1915, at th e Town Clerk’s Office, Taihape. PUBLIC NOTICE is also given that t'h e Valuation Roll and the Estimates of Receipts and Expenditure for the year 1915-1 G are now open for Public Inspection at the Town Clerk’s Office, during office hours.
