FATAL BUSH ACCIDENT.
RUX OVER BY A TRUCK. A serious accident occurred in the bush at Berg Bros ’.s Mill, at Horopito, on Saturday morning. In fact, the ; circumstances are such that it is little short of miraculous that it did not end fatally. It appears that while Mr. Frank Grey was engaged at his work, trucking logs into the mill, ho slipped and fell on the tramline while the load was going down a slight incline. The truck passed over him in such a way ns to cause a comminuted fracture of one leg, and considerably tearing away the flesh therefrom. Mr. Gray’s back was also injured. flue serious- | ness of the accident was at once realised and the services of special railwayfacilities were called upon to get Ivan to the Taiha.po Hospital at the earliest possible moment. He is being attended to by Dr. Barnett, the hospital surgeon. Mr. Gray is a married man with three elriklren. (Since the above was in type xne sad news has come that Mr. Gray sac- i cumbed to his injuries only a few | hours after being admitted to the hospital.)
