A LABOUR AGENT
CONVICTED ON THREE CHARGES
FOR BREACHES OF THE ACT
At the Magistrate’s Court on Saturday morning, Mr .j. R. Ilastdden gave reserved decision an the case of the Inspector of Factories (Mr Gohn) versus II B. Duncan, proprietor c? a local labour bureau. The proceedings were taken under the Servants’ Registry Office, Act. ISOS, and the defendant was convicted ou the following three charges: Section 8 (a) For failing to keep a book containing the name of every person who pays, or is charged a fee for, or in connection with tnc hiring of servnats; also date, etc. Section S (b) For failing to keep a book of engagements. Section 14 (c) FCi failing to keep posted bx a conspicuous. the printed scale, of fees tnen in force.
