Mr. O'Callaghan wrot§ from Vancouver, stating that lie was about starting cm his way over the "Rockies" and theV on down the Columbian River to Portland. Mr. Peyton also received, by the same mail, a letter from Mr. F. T. Hintz, who wrote en board the beat he is travelling by. As Mr. Hintz has many friends here they will be glad to learn that he and Mrs. Hintz are both in the best of health. Mr. Hintz says: We expect to reach Honolulu in a few hours. Mrs. Hintz attended a fancydress ball last night, going as gipsy. We had sports.on the boat lasting nvt> days, and generally have had a real good trip. Since leaving Suva the weather has been warm, despite the blowing of strong trade winds. We have experienced several* tropical showers, but they only last for about ten minutes. We had very heavy thunder and lightning while crossing th-i line. There is a nice crowd travelling, many of them being Americans. All the party is in the best of health. Remember us to alii friends.
