MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE.

WAINUI SETTLER’S BODY FOUND. ON HIS OWN FARM. DEAD SEVERAL DAYS. The mysterious absence from his farm for several days past of Mr Frederick. Sclierf, a farmer, at Wainui Junction, was the cause of a search being made for him yesterday by the police, and a brother of the missing man.. His brother had called at his farm a few days ago, but had found no > one in, and presumed’ that h e had 1 gone away for a few days. Otherwise the search would have been made earlier. After a littl e time the body of the? dead man was found on th e far-end : of his selection, and'lie'had apparently been dead several: The body was brought to the morgue at Taihape, and an inquest was opened at 2 p.m. this afternoon. The deceased was a single man, and was 515' years of age. A' report of the inquest will appear ini our issue to-morrow;.
