It is not every day that the opportunity comes to make £I,OOO by the Insignificant expenditure of five shillings. Many people have given lavishly towards the meritorious patriotic movement for raising funds for our wounded soldiers, but here is a case in which a nugget of gold has been placed in the hands of the Patriotic Committee for disposal, and in which every purchaser of a ticket will have a chance of winning. Only a week or two ago, a poor child was the lucky winner of a £2,000 house, aud it is quite possible any member of this community who invests five shillings in this greatest of all causes may bo as- successful as lire little Hutt girl was. An advertisement appears in another column, and it Is only necessary to fill in and sign the form in the advertisement and forward it with the money for the number of tickets required to Mr. C. A. Ballard, the secretary, in Wellington, who will at once return them to the applicant. The cause is an undeniably good one and it is hoped that the response from Taihape will be in accordance with Die prosperity of the people.
