HIDE AND SKIN REPORT. j WELLINGTON, July 9. In addition to the usual fortnightly sale cf skin.;, hides and tallow, we held this afternoon the third of the special crutchings sales of the season. Representaties of Home,Japanese and local buying houses were in attendance and competition was keen throughout. Out of a total catalogue of 2000 bales we offered 698 bales as well as a large j quantity of skins and hides. Prices for crutchings were advanced, and were on a par with the extreme rates ruling at the May tale. For one line of light, bulky erutching's sold on account H. J. W. Lord, Mastorton, we obtained the exceptional price of 15id. Skins also wer e advanced .\d per !b, whilst stout hides, particularly stoat cow, were selling at .\d mare than at last sale. All other descriptions of produce were very firm at late rates.
