ISLE OF MAN AND THE WAR.
Th e serious financial codition of the Isl e of Man owing to the war was the subject of a long debate; at a joint meeting of both branches of the Manx Legislature. The requisitioning by the Naval authorities of almost the entire fleet of Manx passenger steamers upon which th e island depends for its tourists’ season, threatens disaster to the inhabitants, and a resolution was passed appointing a deputation consisting of the Lieutenant-Governor, the Speaker, and toher members to approach the Imperial Government to urge us many of these vessels as possible. In a preamble to the resolution attention is drawn to the patriotic effort of Manx people to ass-ist the Imperial Government in many directions.
