WHAT GREECE HAS TO GAIN.

Contrasting the position of Italy w,ith that of Greece, M. Venezelos is reported as saying: "It is not permitted to Greece to hesitate as Italy does. Italy with more than 30,000,000 inhabitants, has only about 100,000,000 conationals unredeemed, while Greece, with a population of only 5,000,000 has 4,000,000 Greeks to liberate." The Greeks in Greece are not likely to forget this big proportion of their kinsmen still "unredeemed," millions of whom are subject to the misrule of the Turks. The title of their King keeps j che humiliating trutth ever in their minds. When Princ e Wdlliam of Denmark, father of the present King, and brother of Queen Alexandria, was elected to the throne in ISG3, the title h e chose as King of the Greeks, and not King of Greece. This led to a .strong protest .from ;t|he Sultan cf Turkey, and ultimately the Greek Government altered the 'official titl e of their new King to "King of the Hellenes." It was a distinction without a difference, for all Greeks ar e Hellenes, and wherever they ar e they look on King Constantine as their King, and await as patiently as they can the day of their emancipation.
