Mr T. J. Macnamara, M.P., Financial Secretary to the Admirlaty, addressing a recruiting matinee at Catnberweltl Palace, said that eligible men who had not answered to their country's call had to answer to their own consciences. People of ali ranks had dcn e so magnificently that other people enjoying the airmailies of comfortable, everyday life were too ready to Jock for what Mr Lloyd George would call “Victory as usual.” The business in hand was much too serious. No man or woman must imagine victory was sure without his or her direct interevntion. No man worthy of the name of a British, citinsn must say, “I agree I am not altogether worthy, but some other fellow will make up for my shortcomings.” This was a. life and death struggle for the flaf, and all the flag signified.
