KING’S THEATRE. The new programme to be, submitted this evening is headed by a great Vita- ' graph play, entitled “A Million Bid.-''l This play ran in Broadway (New York' for 250 nights and has been favourably commented upon by the ministry. *Mrs. Belgradin, a proud society woman, is anxious to secure a wealthy match Hr her daughter Agnes. Her extravagance has brought financial ruin upon her husband, wdio is overtaken by death and Dr. Brent who is in love with Agnes, finds that the mother and daugnter are- nearly penniless. The mother, in her endeavour to make a good match for her daughter, estranges the lovers, and eventually force* Agnes to marry a millionaire. The honeymoon takeplace on his yacht, which is wrecked. The husband is presumed to be faially injured and is left on the wreck. The survivors are later picked up, and Agns rturns to America, wlierc she meets her former lover. They get married and are blessed with a sweet girl child. Dr. Brent becomes a great brain specialist and a patient i s one day brought to his rooms for an, operation. How the advent of this patient very nearly wrecks the happiness ;•* the d refer and his wife, forms the concluding chapterof this fascinating story, h is a pictore with a moral and must be witnessed in order to thoroughly appreciate the subject. The screening of this picture commences -it 5.30 and runs on till 10 p.m., but prior to that time other good films wll be screened.

HILDA DORRINGTON AS CAMILLE. Lovers of drama will welcome t-he return visit of the “Within the Law” Company to Taihape, on Tuesday next, when Dumas’ Camille will be presented ; for oue night only. The story of the ’ play is too v/ell-known to warrant anything more than passing comment. It Is the caste that is of special interest. Miss Dorrington w r ho is appearing as • Camille comes with a great reputation , —Th e South African critics likened Ler performance to that of Nance O’Neill. Possesssing a deep resonant voice. Miss Dorrington as we saw r her as Mary Turner in “Within the Law,” should find ample seop e for her talents Inthe coming production, Mr Lionel Walsh who will be remembered as Joa Carson in “Within the Law,” will appear, as Armand Duvall. Mr Walsh supported Miss Hilda Spong in this play on the occasion of her last Australian tour. H e was also through New Zealand with Hilda Spong when “Everywoman” was produced by the Williamson management, in th e capacity of stage manager. Camille will be the farewell production of the “Within the Law”, Company as they depart for Australia in a few weeks’ time. Miss Dorrington wears some of this spring’s Parisian creations, and the models include one from Wcirths, one from Christene, and the balance from Sydney. Th e Company will appear in the Town Hall, Taihape, on Tuesday, June 29, for one night only, and the Box Plan is now open at Finch’s Bazaar' where seats may be reserved without extra charge, and Day Sales also obtained. The curtain rises 6.t 8.15.
