The Christchurch Meat Company has purchased a site of 24 acres, fronting the river, between the town and en trance to the port, on which it is pro posed to erect up-to-date freezing works of brick, w'ith storage capacity equal to 200,000 carcases. This site is eminently suitable foi works, it being connected by rail wdtl the wharves at Castlecliff, whtere s turning basin for ocean liners is b€ ling constructed.
