TAIHAPE CARNIVAL.

To the Editor). Sir, —The Patriotic Committee is a public one, so I would like to ask in a public manner, and receive an open reply, a question concerning the last meeting. At that meeting Mr. Evans was present, and was appointed secretary to the Carnival. How, Sir, did Mr. Evans come to be present? He was not appointed to the Committee at tne public meeting, so had no right to be present at the meeting of the Committee. May I conclude he was the suggested secretary before the Committee met? The Committee owes us an explanation or its action. —I am,etc., A PATRIOT.
