Samples of paper clothing for the soldier in the field have reached Wellington. They take the form of a wastcoat and waders, and are made of a particularly tough paper specially prepared to keep out damp and cold. The waistcoat is worn under regimental clothing and tied with light cotton tapes. Its weight is inconsiderable, and when rolled up measures nine inches lopg by one inch in diameter. The waders are made of the same material. The soldier practically puts his legs into paper bags, and ho can wear them over or under his putties as the case may be. The boots, of course, arc worn over the wader, which reaches to the thigh.
