Work for 300 unemployed people lias boon found in New York by Commander Eva Booth, of the Salvation Army. Blie instituted an old linen campaign, and so great was the response, and the supply has continued for such a time, that work has been given to these 300 people who would otherwise have been out of work. They are preparing old linen into bandages and dressings, and tons of bandages, prepared under medical supervision, have boon already sent to Franco.^ In a public statement, Mr. C. A. Whitney says that New Zealand and Australian ammunition factories are helping the Empire in a very largo way, because the Australasian forces at the front are using, and cannot use anything but Auckland- and Melbourne made ammunition. Enormous quantities have gone to the front, and supplies arc continualy being replenished from the two factoros. The Auckland works are producing throe times their normal output, and the Melbourne works six times Auckland’s maximum output.
