FOUND DEAD IN A MOTOR CAR,. WELLINGTON This Day.. Dr Thomas Henry Gibson Hall, aged 1 63, died in a car this morning. was noticed by pedestrians leaning. l over a wheel of the car which travelled unguided. It collided with a tele- . graph post as it wars going slowly. The' doctor was found to be dead. .„•** , , KILLED IN ACTION. HON. JAS, ALLEN LOSES A SON. WELLINGTON, This Day. News was received this morning by the Hon. Jas. Alien, of the death of his son, Lieutenant J. 11. Allen. The sad news was contained in a. cable from the War Office, and wasto the effeca that it was reported from -w Alexandria that Allen had been killed in action, and that Lord Kitchener had expressed his sympathy. Lieutenant Allen was 25 years of age; ho was in England when the war broke out, and had booked his passageto return to New Zealand, but immediately cancelled it and joined the officers in the Training Corps, and was appointed to a lieutenancy in the, Worcesters and did coastal duty in England. Recently th e Minister re* ceived a cabled announcement, that his son had left with his regiment for "duty abroad." Apparently he had' been sent to the Dardanelles,
