A DEPUTATION.
"TO MINISTER FOR RAILWAYS. STOCK-TRTICKING IMPROVEMENTS. A deputation, consisting of Mr. Corn'for'ti, representing the Freezing Company, Mr, 8, Powell, representing flic Auctioneers ’ Association, and Mr. James, President of the Chamber of Commerce, waited on Mr. Herrles, Minister for Railways, this morning on arrival, ctf the 8.20 train, in connection with urgently needed improvements to the railway trucking yards at the Taihapo station. The deputation took the Minister over to see the yajds, when it was soon disclosed •that Mr, Merries was a practical man,-and a practical farmer. Me saw at once -that the* present accommodation was altogether unsuitable. Mr. Coinford explained the whole position very tersely and clearly. The Minister recognised that ■alteration# would have to be made, mill "he advise*! the deputation to write to M-m on the subject, and it should have his ssuost favourable consideration.
The Minister <bnly had the few' minutes while the train was at the Taihape station. He ivae on his way from Ohaknne to Wellington,
