OHUTU NEWS.
(Own Correspondent.) During- the past two or three weeks this district has most liberally and eathusiastically responded to the call for support to the Hospital Ship Fund, with the result that some £SO ha»s been collected, and the following articles have been forwarded to Wellington: ,21 pyjama suits, 10 dozen pillow slips, 15 sheets, 2 dozen bath towels, 3 pair woollen socks, C tooth brushes, 6 nail brushes, half-dozen bandages. The Ladies' Sewing Committee, who made these articles, consisted of Mesdames Brookes, C. Transom, Arms, Hart, Kennedy, Eyes, Monaghan, Banfield, McEntee, Clinton, Roberts, Isdale, 'Martin, Allen and Misses N. O'Connor, Heise, Mottram, Jurgens, Turnbull and Berrie. Apart from the work done donations in kind were received from Mesdames Anns and Allen, and Messrs Bonnie and Turnbull, whilst the hospitality of th e last-mentioned ladies, ni supplying afternoon tea for the workers, was much appreciated. The ladies are now busily engaged in preparing a second lot of articles to forward to headquarters.
