Mr Massey said lie did not. know where all the talk of war tax© came from. There was really no need, at present for anything in the nature of a special war tax. The prosperity of the Dominion was so great that he certainly did rot contemplate any necessity for a war tax this year. Extra expenditure arising from the war could, he thought, bo mot out cf general revenue, or with a slight increase on existing methods u taxation. Inspector Hendry said the Camp Commandant desired him to point out ; the serious nature of the offence. Liquor was the probable cause of all trouble in camp.
