CORRESPONDENCE

, (To the Editor.) Sir, —In view of the possible scarcity of nurses, it has;; been suggested by many people thatv.ambulance classes inconnection with?.the Order of St. John, should be started in Taihape. I wish to call public attention to the fact that nursing classes were to be started quite recentlyrat the technical school, if sufficient pupils would, join, but none were forthcoming; My own experience, when I appealed to 1 the women of this community to help to knit and sew for the Liverpool Fund and the Belgian Relief rFund was not encouraging and I am? forced to the belief that we, as a-s community, have not yet begun to realise our duties to Britain and the -Dominion. The Technical School Nursing Classes are ready even now to start when anyone desirous of learning will join. Will anyone come forward*?? If hot, let no one complain of want of opportunity to render . themselves more ■ serviceable to humanity in general and our wounded In particular.—l am, etc., B. ARROWSMITH.
