DALGETY AND COY., LTD. HIDE AND SKIN REPORT. WELLINGTON, May 28. We held our .usual fortnightly sale of wooL skins, hides and tallow this afternoon when w© offered a good catalogue to the usual attendance of buyers. The wool offered consisted only of bags —■ all bale wool being held over for the special.cmitchings sale on June 11th —and prices, if anything, wer e a shade higher than those ruling at last sale. All other descriptions of produce sold at late rates, with the exception of stout ox hides which advanced up to one penny per lb. Quotations: — Sheepskins.—Halfbred 9£d to fin e crossbred 10£d, med. coarse crossbred 9Jd to 10£d, short to half wools 71d to 9Jd, dead and damaged crossbred 8d to 91d, inf. and badly damaged 2d to 4d, lambs 105 d to 10£d, damp, salted and green 3/6 to 10/2, pelts 4d to 4Jd, lambs, salted, 3/9 to 6/6.
Hides.—Ox, heavy (601bs up) 10 3-8 d to 10§d, ox, med* (50/59) M to 10d, ox, light (49 and under) to lOd, cow, heavy (551bs and over) 8d to B|d, cow, med. (42 to 54), B|d to Bgd, cow, light (under 42) 9 l-8d to B£d, cut, slippy and inf. 5d to 7Jd, bull stag 5 5-8 d to 6d, -yearlings (161bs to 241bs) <Ud to IW, calf, superior (up to 16 lbs) 9 l-8d to 9 5-Bd, calf, med. good (up to 161bs) 8d to 9d, calf, damaged (up to 161bs) 4d to 7 5-Bd, horse, 4/ to 8/6. Tallow.—ln casks 24/,; ~ in tins IT/6, 23/3. Sundries.—Cow Tails 1/6, 1/7.
At our next sale on the 11th June we are offering a large quantity of crutchings, and we expect to have the competition of a representative number of both Home and Local buyers. We confidently recommend consignments of all classes of produce.
