A GIRL DROWNED. SOMNAMBULISM SUGGESTED. AUCKLAND, Thsi Day. The body of a young woman found drowned in the harbour, three miles from Avondale, has been identified as Miss Constance May Carter, daughter of Mr George Carter, of Northcote. The body when found was clad in a light linen undergarment. It is surmised she got out.of bed during the night, under the influence of somuambulsim. SUPREME COURT. AN HABITUAL CRIMINAL. At the Supreme Court,Phillip' George Bernard, for attempted theft from the person, on December 22 at Wanganui, was sentenced to two years, and declared an habitual criminal. • The accused had a long list of previous convictions.
