AMERICAN STREET FIGHT.
NINE KILLED AND WOUNDED. At Wilmington, Del., one policeman is dead, two policemen are mortally wounded, and a fourth policeman and two other men are- slightly injured as the result of a running pistol battle with two desperadoes trying to escape arrest as suspicious characters. Both were finally captured, after one of them had been shot twice and slightly wounded. Th e two men were removed to the cuontry workhos e at Newcastle to prevent a possible attempt by friends of th e police to lynch them. The police tried to arrest the two men after a pawnbroker had notified them of an attempt to pawn two valuable watches. The fight started near a police station, and ended in a stable two blocks away, where the desperadoes were cornered and where Constable Tierney was shot dead and the other two men wounded. The prisoners said they were Peter Kragus, 30 years old, and Charles Moras, 20 years old. The police charged that Krakus fired th e shots that took effect
