- WELL-KNOWN MISSIONARY, WELLINGTON, This Day.' 'The death occurred at Petohc last might of the Rev. William Kirk, the well-known Methodist missionary, in ihU 90th year. He’had only been conffined to ’his bed for two days. The deceased arrived in the colony in 1846 and was afterwards-stationed in many parts of the Dominion, returning in 1885, iln 1848 he married the eldest ■daughter of the’Rev. 76hn Hobbs. ■I I • - _ r- ~ :®m. McDonald, the well-known horse owner, of Levin, who was visiting Wanganui in connection with the .races, died suddenly ‘in ; the street last might. Medicdl attention was at once -sought, but the doctor could only pronounce ilife r to be extinct. The cause of death is believed"to'have been heart failure. The body was removed to the morgue pending an : inquest.
