In former years the jhatred between the Waikato and Hawke's Bay tribes was very bitter, but all that enmity had now ended, and they were now working together in one common cause, for the benefit of all concerned. Commenting on the state of money market and the fact that the banks have an ample supply of funds in hand, tlie Trade Review says that the change in the position the last three months amounts to an improvement of £3,618,387, as compared with an improvement of £1,365,614 in the corresponding period:, of a year ago. This position arises chiefly from the tremendous increase in the value of exports this season. The figures give ample evidence that there is an abundance of funds for all ordinary requirements for the present, and it is anticipated that the supply will remain at a satisfactory level for some months.
