Sigglekow was charged with having on May 1, at Christchurch, spread a false report stating that the “First, sec. ond and third contingents were practically wiped out; ther e will be a special edition of the paper at nine o’clock,” Such statement being likely to prejurlirje recruiting. A remand to May 19 was granted, to allow accused tim e to prpare a defence.
