In tjhe Magistrate’s Court, Richard Vright was fined £5 for having signd a false- declaration under the Legislature Act, Defendant, who was on the Egmont Electoral Roll, voted at Normanby in the Pataa Electoral DisOn igen,eral f flection day he signed a declaration that his name did not appear on any other roll. A STUPID LIAR. SPREADS FALSE REPORTS. CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day, W. Sigglekow was charged with having on May 1, at Christchurch, spread a false report stating that the “First, sec. ond and third contingents were practically wiped out; ther e will be a special edition of the paper at nine o’clock,” Such statement being likely to prejurlirje recruiting. A remand to May 19 was granted, to allow accused tim e to prpare a defence.
