Canterbury 61d, North Island 6 l-16d, ordinary quality 5 7-Bd. Lamb: Market weaker, slightly lower supplies increasing the high prices and restricting business. Canterbury 7 7-Sd, for all weights other than Canterbury 7 7-Sd for best quality, second gratia 7 9-16 d. Beef: There is very little frozen beef available at market quotations; nominal New Zealand hinds 6 5-Bd, fores chilled is in moderate supply, hinds 7 5-Bd, fores 6|d. Butter: Market remains firm and good demand continues for Colonial. Prices are firmer on account of small supply Danish 148/ to .154/; New Zealand butter has bee;} firm this week and the market has advanced 4/. New 7a aland 128/ tc 140/, uncalled 140/ to 144/; Austraian 102/ to 136/; Siberian 130/ to 134/; Irish creamery, little offering, 140- to 142/; Argentine 132/ to 136/. Cheese: Market is firmer, Canadian white 96/ to 98/, coloured 94/ to 96/; i Ntew Zfealand markjet .qt'osed firmer I with more enquiry, white and coloured j 93/ to 94/; United States, in good de- ■ mand, last season's make, wjhite and ■ coloured 88/ to 92/, this season's white and coloured 2/ less. It is estimated that Canadian and United State's Cheese stocks at London, Liverpool and Bristol on the 3rd May were 87,000 crates, chiefly United States flats —against 48,000 crates at' the same time last year New Zealand and Australian cheese stocks at London and Bristol on th e 3rd May were 18,000 crates, which amount does not include 14,000 crates on the Kaikoura which is docked but has not yet discharged, as against 73,000 crates at the same time last year.
