Marlborough Cup. —Diavolo 1, Rene 2, Immer 3. Also ran: Byron, Imarose, Chillies. Won by a length. Time, 2.11 Opawa Welter. —Pmapara 1, Hap Dha 2, Rowe 3. Also ran: Arlington, Soporific, Combination, Elopement, Otakura. Won by a neck. Time, 1.30.
Flying Handciap.—Evadne 1, Margarita 2, Altcar 3. Also ran: Peroneal, Royal Dragoon. Won by half a length. Time, 1.15 2-5. Autumn Hack.—Whisperer 1, Royal Sleeves 2, Coropet 3. Also ran: Hauny a length. Time, 1.15 3-5. T'h 8 tctalisator put through £9167, an increase of £1614 over the first day last year. After the Cup the stewards held an Inquiry into th e running of Rene. A ,ntir-factory explanation was given. After the Flying the second position Was awarded to Altcar, In consequence of Margarita boring in the straight.
