EDISON'S LATEST INVENTION. BATTERIES FOR SUBMARINES. . NEW YORK, April 14. Edison announces a new submarine storage battery enabling a craft to remain ten days submerged without danger of chlorine poisoning to the crew. The battery gives an under-water range of 150 miles.
BRITAIN'S DRINK PROBLEM.

Two committees are inquiring and have asked the opinions of experts like Mr. Thomas Whittaker and Mr. Seebohm Rowntree, Labour leaders, and leading business men.
