ADELAIDE EARTHQUAKE.
(Reed. 10.15 a.m.) ADELAIDE, This Day. A Serious earth tremor occurred at 5.30 yesterday morning. It was reported from various parts of the State.
BENEFICIAL RAIN.
(Reed. 9.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 31. Persistant heavy rain is militating against the show attendance, but the whole State is benefiting. In some places four inches of rain have fallen and the crop and feed outlook, has greatly improved. ______________ - *
THE VOLUNTARY SYSTEM.
PREMIER FISHER'S VIEWS. • (Reed. 10.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Mr Fisher, at the Royal Agricultural Show luncheon, remarked that if voluntary service failed, of which there Avas no sign, the Government would take further action. The war 'iad cost Australia 11 millions a month.
PEDIGREE STOCK SALES.
\ (Reed. 11-40 .pm.) SYDNEY, March 31. At the pedigree cattle sales in connection with the show, values wer,s satisfactory. In Shorthorn bulls, Dundas' Duke of Derrimat sth, which had taken first prize, brought 460 guineas. On behalf of R. McLena (Hawkesbury) two were "sold at 210 and 250, and 7 other s ran&ed from 160 to 65. On behalf of William Nixon (cf Canterbury), Lovelock (Palmerston), Wright (Windermere), prices ranged from a hundred to 25.
