LONDON WOOL SALES. Dalgety and Company, Limited, have ] icceived the following cablegram from I their London cilice, dated 23rd instant: Market for Merinos is easier, especially for faulty. Fine crossbreds axe now 5 per cent, higher, medium and coarse 11 to 10 per cent, dearer than the closing' rates of last series. DALGETY AND COMPANY. SUPPLEMENTARY WOOL SALE. , W'3 submitted a catalogue of 620 bales out of a total of 2046 bales at the end of season wool sale held today, and have to report «-ecord prices with a consequent total clearance of all lines. The muster of buyers was fully representative, so that with the kee.ii competition and practically open buying orders the market rose even above, expectations, i.e., about Id par lb all round for. half and crossbred fleece, and probably l.\d per lb for bellies and pieces, and any quality lambs wool. We obtained probably a season's record for lambs wool with a super line from R. A. Harcourt, Koiterangi, which .realised 17}d per lb. Some -scoured oddments of the "Benopai" clip from Marlboro \xh, ' also made good figures—the bellies making 20d, 2nd pieces 19.1 d, locks 18d, and 2 odd bales of fleec e 20d and 21id respectively. Some ofrQur best results were: O/a., R. A. Harcourt, Sth Westland, Lambs 17id, R. Mackley, Sth. Westland, 163 d, J. B. Hunter, Masterton, crossbred 16d, Thos. Richardson, Karamea, crossbred 153 d, W. G. Bright, Westport, crossbred 153 d, W, and' S. Gower, Patea, crossbred 15Jd, J. H. and A. F. Gibbes, Ufiku, ewes 142 d. The range of prices was a s follows: Halfbred to 16id, crossbred to 17d, crossbred, m'edium, 13d to lGd, crossbred, coarse, 13d to 16d, crossbred, in. ferior and seedy, HJd to 13d, pieces and bellies 9d to ll&d, locks 5d to 7d, lambs, super, 14Ad to 17id, lambs, medium, 12d to 14£d, lambs, inferior and seedy, 7d to lil'd.. Our next sale of wool, skin, hides, tallow, etc., will be held on Friday, April 16th, 1914. HIDE AND SKIN REPORT. In. conjunction with the final wool sale of the season held to-day, we of- 1 fered our usual fortnightly catalogue of skins, hides and tallow, and with the 1 exception of hides the results showed a further rise on last sale's. prices. Skins and tallow sold exceptionally wall, as the range of the prices given below will show, but it '- s difficult to explain the dragging market for hides of a penny per lb for ex, and to IXd per lb for cow. The decline is probably in sympathy with the Australian market; but we trust that •it will be only of a temporary •nature. The following is the range of prices: Sheepskins: Fine £jrossb!reid: ll|d, medium coarse crossbred IOJd to ll£d, short to half wools Bid to 9id, dead and damaged crossbred Bijd to 9£d, inferior and badly damaged 4Xd to l'ic\, lambs 9£ to Hid, damp, salted and green 5/ to 7/9, p'elts 3!6 ,to 5/3.
