BOWLING.

TAIHAPE V. WANGANUI. TAIHAPE'S SPLENDID PERFORMANCE. On Wednesday a rink representing the Taihape Bowling Club journeyed to Wanganiii in an endeavour to capture the Keesing Cup. They were unsuccessful, but (gave the holders a good gams. The conditions of play state that an advantage must be gained at the finish of the last lead—the twenty-first. On this occasion tbe scores were even—23 all—at the finish of the last head, so Wanganui retained possession by the closest of circumstances. A feature of the game was that on two occasion s th? nearest bowls of the opposing rinks could not be s e parated, so both these heads had to be replayed. The local team, Hesketh, Drayton, Evans and Neagle, skip, expect to again visit Wanlganui on a similar mission, when they hope to attain their desires. As the match was on their opponent's green the Taihape team's performance was an exceptionally good one.
