In a case in the Police Court which concluded this evening’ a fisherman, was fined £lO and £0 costs for using dynamite or other explosives for th® pujrpose of catching fish. At the Police Court, a stevedore namd Thomas Henderson was charged with unshipping a set of black furs and other articles of attire from ships in Dunedin haL’bour, when entry was not made and passed or a permit granted. He told a lady in a restaurant that he frequently could get her a hat. Eventually she went to the wharf and defendant obtained from the ship over which he had control, the furs, a blouse, and a hat. He told the police he purchased them from the steward. In court, he pleaded guilty. The Magistrate said the person obh.hhng the goods was a prjrty to a fraud against the Customs. He inflicted he minimum penalty of £25.
