THE MOON AND THE WEATHER.
(To the Editor). Sir,—! would like to ask Mr Clement •Vragg : e a question, which be could ■nswer at his lecture en Monday eyen[v(j, and that i-:, is there'any scientific eascu, or data, in supprot cf the common that if the weather starts wet with a new inccn that therefore it is likely to continue wet during- that nc-nth, or vice versa? I have often isked persons, who made the state ment that we were going- to have a wet month, because it started wet with the new nrcon, if they could give me a reason in support of that statement, but have never got a satisfactory one yet. Therefore', a s the question is of public interest, f hope Mr Wragge, in the public interest, will answer it. In conclusion, I would like to state for the public interest, that the latest idea about the creation, as given by a school boy, who was asked to write an essay on the creation, is that God made the world, then rested, He then made man, and rested again, then made woman, and since then neither God nor man have rested.—l am. etc., W. J. H. 'McCORMICK.
