Association's rooms lust evening, there being a large attendance cf membcl'S present. Mr W. Dixon, president, was m the chair. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. One new member, Mr A. Henderson. Otiwhiti, Huutorville, was elected. Ihe secretary reported that he had v.Husn tc the judges, who adjudicated at the late show, thanking them loi cheir set s’ices, and asking what was payable to them by way of expenses. The replies he received were to me effect that there were no- expenses. COl vRESPON D~:< CE. A letter vqes received from Mr E. Jack, secretary 10 the New Zealand Council cf Agriculture, Wellington, notifying' that the annual Agr-iculUßal .Conference would be held as usual at fend cf July, ana asking that an essiy opportunity be taken to bring ! jeiirs* the Association any matter that 1 1 might fTuvm the subject of remits to the ccurA-fU.me, which would have to i>e in. the Hands of the conference before the end cf May. In other re give an opportunity for all mg mbtsrs to consider' the matter discuss ion wag postponed till next meeting’, <of th|e committee. Mr •/'. B. Alien; Caf.teiT.ou, wrote homplar, ning about the facilities for entrainic'g and detraining stock at the Taihape railway station'. also thought ft. marshal steward afeould be appointed by the Association' receive all. shock arriving by trait? /* J,: exhibition. The chs-lrruj. n said the facilities I'oi * stock r.c T&ihnp e was not at alj adequate for sac'ii a district and lie thought some eff v ‘U’t should be- made to tljcure • impro-vex ner, fc as would enable the quantity of-, stock coming forward at that time ci> khe year being coped with in a satisfy etcry way. In

agreeing to take cha.tge, of exhibits , the Association had takej. 1 ratlxttr too much on its shoulders. On ivlr Q. Bray’s jfasoluv the | a'acretary was instructed to V ;ife t 0 ! Mr Allen erplaining ilmj position, and j assuring- him that there would be 110 [ recurrence of trouble- at futut s j shows. | hlr Cornford was of opinion that j some definite steps should be taken j

at once to obtain more adequate and ! suitable accommodation for Lie trails-! port of stock at the Taihape .station, j something was wanting when one i truck of sheep would block the .whole I concern; the railway yards were 1 alto- ' gether unsuitable for the amount cf | stock that was being handled. Ti:o i show came at a time 1 when there was a large quantity of stock moving; now ' was the' time to approach th e Railway I Department for alterations; the design of this ya)ds was- absolutely wrong ' and the conveniences were not at all I adequate for the district. The stock I auctioneers were as much concerned | about tfcja thing as anybody and they j would be ready to join with the Asso- j ciation in urging the Department to | make improvement.

Mr Bray moved and Mr Cornfcrd seconded that the chairman, secretary and Mr Ccrnford be a committee to interview the auctioneers and to take such steps as they thought necessary iii the matter. Continuing, Mr Bray said the trucking facilities wefie not suitable but they couldn’t go to the Department and dictate what was to be done. They could only represent their n!ecd s and leave it to the Department 10 make the improvements in Jieir own way. He was satisfied that the yards could be improved either by being shifted or altered, The resolution was carrie'd unanimous']v.

Mr Docie said the pi[j exhibitors had complained about the difficulty of getting pigs in and out cf vehicles into die pens on the show ground. He thought many improvements could be made and he would he prepared to go through the schedule and make note

of what improvements were necessary that c-cuUi be effected. They certainly wanted arrangements for penning and loading pigs. Mr Bray said they had only to state what was wanijed, whether It was loading races or anything else they would get it. They had to learn from exhibitors what "'as needed and then it would b.e provided. The matter was left in the hands of the

class stewards. Mr Addis suggested that the meetiu'g should discuss the question of holding a winder show. If necessary he would give notice if motion that a winter show he held.

Mr Bray htought it was not necessary as the winter show would he held in ordinary course if no resolution was passed to the contrary. Thje winter show would be held as usual on the first Wednesday and Thursday in July. He expressed the opinion that it was desirable to add some horse events as they were most attractive to the people. There should be at least two or thrjae horse events. Mr Cornford said there was no shadow cf doubt about the horse events having the most attraction for the people and they ought to he added to the

schedule. The meeting unanimously agreed on that point. Considerable discussion took place on the question of admission to the
