HIBERNIAN CLUB’S ENTERTAINMENT.
AT THREE STARS THEATRE. —* A very large audience attended the Hibernian Club’s Picti-jre entertainment at the Thre'e Stars Theatre last night. The whole programme was in the hands of the Club’s committee, and it certainly deserved the ii'emendous applause its shorts induced. Seme cf the finest pictures ever seen in Taihape were exhibited and during the evening the Champion ax'emau cf Me tv Zealand gave an exhibition cf oh ocirjt which the large audience thoroughly an.) eclated and enjoyed. A great feature of the entertainin' - was the announcement of the winners of various conipetitlcns. A beaut r l picture was won by the holder of 11. bet Number 182, it being nearest to the correct number, IS3. The cake-guess-ing competition was won by A. Young, the correct weight ll’.bs 4oxs. No one guessed the name cf the doll, which wa £ “Brenda.” and Mr McLennan sold it by auction in the room, when it realised £3 12s. The gathering was an enjoyable and besides being successful from a financial point of view.
