HURN CUP COMPETITION. The Taihape rink this morning was the scene of a determined contest to wrest the Hum Cup from its Taihape holders, who have managed to retain it since they took it from the Palmerston North Club at tho beginning of tho season. The Marton Club team were the challengers and they have emerged from the contest most honourably, with some half-a-dozen points to spare, the final figures being 23 to 17. As the Hum Cup is the premier trophy competed for among west coast bowlers the Marton team will, until the Cup is taken from tkem by a more successful team, be regarded us the champions. The winning team consisted of Messrs Cummins, Whiting, Duck and Suf'liffe (s). The Taihape team vyps: Her'■'>th. Evans, Wrigu-rson, and de (s). . , ; ; . .
