The Stat'a Fire Insurance reports for 1914 show that it was a record year. The net profits were £18,600, after set* ting aside £2091 for reserve and for unearned premiums, and £IOOO for investment fluctuations. The largest previous profit was £15,443 in 1913. Th'a net income was £67,693, an increase of £6,413. The net premium income was £64,645, an increase of £5,228. Fire losses totalled £28,109, against £27,975, in 1913. The ratio to income was 43.5 against 47.08 in the previous year. The reserve funds amount to £87,423, an increase of £21,75.2, and the invested capital is £68,996, an increase of £24,746.
