Beef: New Zealand hides 6 9-16; fores 6 l-8d; chilled, larger arrivals at market. Hinds 6 5-8 d; fores 6d. . Butter: Market firm, at an advance, with good demand for colonial. Danish 138/ to 140/; New Zealand : 134/ to 16/; exceptionally 138/; Australian, 130/ to 134/; exceptionally, 135/; Siberian 128/ to 130/; Argentine 128/ to 130/. Chsese: Market firm, at advance, with moderate demand by the Trade on account of quantities required for'the Government. Spot market bare. Canadian white and coloured 90/ to 92/; exceptionally 93/ Australian 86/ to 88/; United States 84/ to 90/. The estimated Canadian cheese stocks at London, Liverpool and Bristol on the Ist of March were 78,000 boxes, against 96,000 at the same time last year. New Zealand and Australian cheese stocks on Ist qf March in London and Bristol were 14,700 crates, against 35,700 at the same time last year.

Hemp: Market steady, without animation. New Zealand, good fair grade £3l; fair £29; fair current Manilla £35. Forward shipment at same prices. The output from Manilla for the week was' 14,000 bales. Wheat: Market weak and inactive. Buyers holding back. Canadian, and American, any port 60/; Argentine, for February to April delivery 59/. Oats: Market quiet, with a tendency in favour of buyers. Argentine, February to April delivery 29/. Wool: Sales closed with a strong market, which was excited; large business was doing because tbe supply fall short of the demand. The outlook is very encouraging and present rates are likely to be maintained. Present pries for medium and coarse crossbreds of all grades are higher than for forty years.
