CORRESPONDENCE.
(To the Editor).
Sir,—l should like to ask for seme -information in the matter of judging home-made bread in the class of that order at the recent show. It is understood that bread so exhibited is to get the true test of quality—cut and tasted—and that which jgives the greatest excellence in make and flavour gets the best verdict of the judge. Well, now, this beinjg so, in the event of a loaf remaining uncut or tasted as described, it surely follows that any loaf not receiving such treatment would be untried, and therefore really not in competition and only on show as an ornam'ent and of no use, being in show as a loaf of bread and of no value as an exhibit. The reason for asking ,this question is that when such exhibits of bread have been uncut as against those* that ure cut what is th'a use of exhibiting loaves of bread by a competitor where the exhibit is so neglected?—'l am, etc., COMPETITOR.
