The number of horses in New South Wales on the first of January, was 588,201', a decrease of 27,249. Cattlie 2,231,973, a decrease of 1.91,670. Sheep, 34,726,289, a clscnease of 3,273,273,c0mpared with 1913. The decrease in horses is attributed to the great demand for military purposes while the Jeer ease in cattle and sheep is caused by the drought and high prices now' obtainable. (Reed. 8.40 a.m.) BRISBANE, March 6. A deputation representing Peacd Societies asked the Methodist Conference to urge the abolition of war. Rev. Rowe, in replying for the Conference, said they valued peace, but not a peace at any price. They were in the war and would see it through, and they were doing that in the name of Christ.
