TREATMENT OF STOCK.
f!(To the Editor). Dear Sir, —I wish, in your columns, to call attention of the police and public to the practice of leaving stock in the sale yards for days without food. This week there has been a mob of lambs in the yards from Wednesday mornink at the latest], and it is still there at time of writing, Saturday 10 ami., I have enquired from all the stock auctioneering - firms, and none of them know to whom the lambs in question belong. I am, therefore, obliged to give this case publicity. Nevertheless, the yards are the property of the Associated Stock Agents, and they are responsible for the proper use of same. Surely some person has imbibed German “Kultur” to a griea.t extent to make him capable of this treatment of dumb animals. Thanking - you in anticipation.—l am, etc., A. L. ARROWSMITH.
