FOUND DEAD.
INQUEST ON ANDREW YOUNG. Art inquest touching the death of Andrew Young was conducted yesterday by Mr J. P. Aldridge, District Coroner. ' Peter Ranapa stated that he had been working with Young at Erewhon wcolwash. They left there on Wednesday, 24th, and came on to Taihape. They stayed at Taihape till Saturday last, and then went to Moawhango. On Wednesday at noon, Young left tc go to Cornford and Burridge's to seek work. That was the last witness saw of him. When in Taihape witness and deceased were drinking heavily and Young was suffering a good deal from /che. .effects of th'et da-ink. He complained of inability to sleep at night. On Wednesday Young partook of dinner and said he was feeling much better. Young was addicted to drink. H e never spoke of ' any relations. Witness understood that Young came from- Newcastle, England. Alex. McConachie met Y;ounJ; on the Moawhar*,jo Road on Wednesday at 1 p.m. He did net know Young. Both said. "Q cod-day." He beUevjed that he was thef lafit man to seei Yciing alive, lis was later informed of Young's death and examined his I swag.' R contained a seaman's discharge, which showed that Young was 35 years cf age. Dr Barnett conducted a post mortem examination cf dec-Baked. Death was ' due to heart'failure. The lungs were perfectly sound but the heart war. much enlarged. The aortic valve and j -oncra-r:,* '.arteries fcvert) expensively diseased.
George Ryrie Terry, cf Raukura,saw deceased under a kowhai tree on the side of the Mcawhango Road about 6 p.m. en Wednesday. Witness thought that Young was sleeping. lie called cut, "Hello, there." He received no response, and then made an examination.. , Young \va? dead,
