At our Marten sale on Tuesday, 23rd inst., we have to report having a fair entry of stock, which sold as below; Mixed ewes to 11/, 2 tooth ewes to 16/7, light fat and forward cows to £5 2/6.We have to import having held our usual monthly stock sale at Utuwai on Tuesday, 23rd inst., when we offered a good yarding of cattle and sheep to a large attendance ct this public. Quotations; 18-rironths heifers £3, weaner steers and heifers £l, cows and calves £3 17/6, good, Coloured wpaner heifers £1 7/6, 4 and 5 year ewes 13/ to 15/10, A ram donated by W. J. LONDON WOOL SALES. Dalgety and Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London Office under date of the 23rd instant; “Wool sales open!.'3 with a good selection and a large attendance of buyers. Competition was animated. Good greasy merinos showed a rise of from 5 to 71 per ejant, and other sorts 5 per cent. Scoured Meriuos-were from par to 5 per cent, higher; greasy fine crossbreds weib 5 per cent, higher; medium and* coaree 5 id 71. Slipes and secured crossbreds were unchang. ed.
“For the 3rd series the gross arrivals amounted to 223,590 bales. Nine-ty-three thousand bales have been carried forward, leaving a nett quantity cf 130,000 available for sale,”
