Meat: Good demand continues for all descriptions. The market is firm, owing to reduced supplies in consequence of the dock strike during the week. The strike is now. terminated, and work has been resumed. Mutton: No supplies of Canterbury on hand. North Island 5 3-16 d; for best quality ewes 5 3-Bd. Lamb: No supplies of Canterbury on hand. Other than Canterbury, 7Jd.

Beef: Hindquarters 6£d; forequarters 6d; chilled beef, a limited supply, hindquarters 7 5-8 d; forequarters 6 3-Bd. Butter: Market is -on the decline. Danish, 132/ to 136/; New Zealand 128/ to 133/; Australian 126/ to 130/; Siberian, 15,000 casks are expected from Vladivostock during the . next week; Argentine, no arrivals. Cheese: Market is steady and at the decline. The Canadian supply is running short. White and coloured, 89/ to 92/; New Zealand, white and coloured 86/ to 88/. A quantity of United States cheese is on the market at 84/ to 86/; Australian cheese continues to arrive, but the Essex cargo is net available.

Hemp: Market is firm. It advanced suddenly -owing to difficulty regarding the tonnage o:c light shipments. Hemp is expected from Penang. New Zealand grade. £29; fair current Manilla, £35. Forward shipment of New Zealand good fair grade, £3l 10/; fair grade £29 10/; fair current Manilla, £35. The output from Manilla for the week was 28,000 bales. Wool: Market is strong Wheat: The Markfc,-, is very erratic. During last week prices fluctuated from 62/ to 65/. There is fair tiade doing, but holders are firm. There ?re plenty of buyers. Canadian, io/; American 65/; any "position, Argentine, 64/ Hebrua,ry and March shipment.
