PRICE OF TEA. WitOLLSALE INCREASE. CONSUMER NOT A EJECTED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Cabled advice received here from Colombo states that there has been an increase in the wholesale price of tea by 2MI per pound, due to the operations of Russians in Indian and Ceylon markets. Local gro2 Q >v do net think the increase will affect the consumer. FOUND DEAD BURNED IN A HUT. GORE, This Day. A well-known resident of Herioty Harry Bcylen, was fJound dead in his hut yesterday. A part of the floor cf the hut was burned, and also the lower portion cf deceased's body. An inquest, is to be held. DUNEDIN, Feb. 19. A cablegram a few days ago stated that a New Zealamler named McDonald had been drowned through the wreck of the barque Andromeda in a gale at Falmouth. It is feared that the deceased is Allen McDonald, aged 19 years, son of Captain McDonald, of Fort Chalmers. He left the schooner Huia at Auckland to join the Andromeda before she left for Falmouth.
